Should healers get paid for their services? Some people believe that individuals with healing abilities should use their gifts to help humanity and the animal kingdom free of charge.
I agree, that healers should use their gifts to serve humanity and the animal kingdom. However professional healers such as channelled healers and trance healers must charge for their services. Their job is to center us and instill harmony and this is valuable. Healers also need financial security to ensure they can pay their bills and continue to develop their abilities. Receiving money from sessions sets clear boundaries and helps us focus on what matters most, helping people and their pets.
So, what are the 8 reasons Spiritual Healers should get paid for their services?
1. It is a profession and career choice
Professional healers charge for their services because they have committed themselves to using their gift to help others. Spiritual jobs are legitimate professions and channeled healers, trance healers, reiki healers, shamanic healers, and Craniosacral practitioners are no exception.
We pay for many types of spiritual and nonspiritual services. When we visit a masseuse, or a chiropractor, join a Qi Gong class, or attend a spiritual retreat, we expect to pay. It is no different when booking a session with a healer.
2. It reflects our self-worth & value
When we begin our journey as healers our focus is to understand the basics and practice with many people to improve our abilities. We may decide to offer free services as part of our development process which is beneficial to both the client and the spiritual healer.
But as we improve our goal changes from quantity to quality of of our services. Over time, we get better at it and once we reach a certain level of expertise, we are no longer amateurs but trained healers.
At this point, we perceive the value of our work and our skills and may choose to charge for our services, accept donations, or receive some sort of exchange for our services.
3. It creates financial stability
Most healers are altruists and would love to offer their services for free to help people all around the world. But the reality is that most people, including healers, have financial business obligations and living costs. We need to pay for food, rent, household bills, transport, clothes, just to survive.
Getting paid isnโt a luxury, it is a necessity for those wanting to honor their spiritual gifts to help people and their animals.
4. It sets clear boundaries and expectations
Charging for services ensures that the healer’s work is valued and avoids their services and time being taken for granted. Healers may choose to offer donation-based or free healers for those experiencing financial difficulties, but they must avoid becoming overwhelmed by high demand for free services.
5. We reinvest money in professional growth
Another reason mediums need to charge is so that they can invest in their personal, professional, and spiritual development.
We are constantly working to develop our skills. We read books, enroll in online courses, attend weekly development classes, sign up for mentoring classes, and buy tools to complete healing sessions. But all this costs money. By charging for our services, we can reinvest the money into our development and continuously improve the quality of our services.
6. It is a form of gratitude for the exchange
Paying for healing services is a sign of appreciation for the healer’s time and energy. It recognizes their knowledge and expertise about mediumship and values the time and energy exchange of the session.
Most people feel a sense of gratitude and want to pay for these services. When denied the opportunity, they may feel uneasy, and not want to book future readings with you.
7. It focuses your attention on the mission
When our basic economic needs are met, we feel more settled and relaxed around finances. This helps us focus on what is important. Our mission is to serve humanity and the animal kingdom.
8. not everyone wants to develop their gifts
There is some debate among the spiritual community about receiving money in exchange for spiritual gifts such as healing services and teaching others to do the same thing.
But the truth is we all have these gifts, we can all learn to heal each other and develop God-given skills. But not everyone wants to dedicate their time and energy to develop these faculties.
Instead, they prefer to pay a professional who is passionate about their job to provide that service for them. This exchange benefits everyone, the client and the healers.
Final Thoughts
Deciding whether or not to charge for your healing services is a personal choice. But what is important, is that you honor your truth and pick the form of exchange that feels right.
You may choose not to charge or accept donations for your sessions, in which case keep the energy flowing, or ask clients to pay it forward in some way.
